Pastor Joel Langholz

(he/him/his)

Pastor Joel spent much of his youth on the beach in Florida but has called Washington home for over 20 years. He holds an M.Div from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, California.  Joel has been spiritually shaped by the writings of theologian Paul Tillich as well as the music of U2 and Radiohead.  When he is not involved in ministry, he loves spending time with his wife Becky and their two children. He enjoys hiking, snowboarding, and spinning records. Prior to his ordination in the ELCA , Pastor Joel worked in a number of capacities, including as a Studio Assistant for glass artist Dale Chihuly, as a wilderness contractor in the Glacier Peak Wilderness, and as a cook. In addition to serving as Campus Pastor for LCM at WWU, Joel serves as pastor of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church on the south side of Bellingham.
